Beagle (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Medium
Name: Bert Breed: Beagle Age: Approx. 6 years Weight: 28 pounds Coat: Short, Tri color Adoption Fee: $175 Location: Essex, MD Vetting Status: Neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for Ehlichiosis and Lyme's diseases, heartworm negative and maintained on preventatives Bert was initially found wondering the streets malnourished with significant hair loss due a flea infestation and untreated flea allergy, infected ears and overgrown nails embedding into his paw pads. He was surprisingly heartworm negative; however, he did test positive for two common tick borne diseases, Lyme's and Ehrlichia and has since completed his 60 day course of antibiotics (doxycycline) for treatment. Like most beagles, Bert is friendly and outgoing, wanting nothing more than someone to love and cherish him. He gets along well with a array of K-9 companions (ranging from 15-90 pounds) and also enjoys going on car rides. Like most beagles he is food motivated and likely to "talk" to you at feeding time. Bert would fare well in nearly any home environment with both adults, children and other animals. Those who are not familiar with the characteristics of beagles are encouraged to perform research on the breed to ensure realistic expectations before submitting an adoption application. If you think Bert may be the beagle boy for you, please fill out your application today or send his rescue an e-mail for further details! Bert is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.
