RUPERT HRH Prince Rupert came to us labeled a pom-husky mix, but our experts seem to think he may actually be a purebred "Klee Kai". Rupert is a spunky, sweet, smart, mischievous, & EXTREMELY active little dude! He hates crates, but loves people, toys, & seeing the leash come out for walks. Rupert would be an awesome running buddy!! He will NOT do well in an apartment situation where his only exercise is a handful of potty-only walks & an adopter who is gone all day. Rupert loves dogs of all sizes, but being a fur-nado of energy... Rupert has zero clue that not every dog he meets is likely to appreciate this play style. As such, we would not recommend him as a dog park or doggie daycare candidate. An adopter that will commit to continued training (and perhaps even puppy classes with a trainer) would be very beneficial to help this bouncing ball of energy continue on the right path. If you think RUPERT is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! RUPERT is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!
