Pointer (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Large
Breed: Pointer Dixie was initially acquired in December of 2015 from a shelter in West Virginia for a specific adopter. Since then, unexpected personal issues arose, forcing her owner to seek our assistance to rehome Dixie. We have taken time to relearn Dixie and work with her training to prepare her for adoption. Dixie is sweet, loving and certainly intelligent; however, can also be stubborn at times. For this reason, she will require a strong handler that will assume the role of pack leader, give her tasks to keep her busy and commit to continued training. Balancing Dixie’s energy is an absolute must for her to remain happy and healthy. Dixie will need a fenced yard or another adequate means to ensure her exercise requirements are met. She adores playing with other dogs! Should there be other dog in the home, young and playful ones are a must as she can be persistent with dogs that are not receptive her fun and games. Dixie does not do well with cats; however, she is good with children. Dixie will make a fantastic addition to the right home. If you suspect Dixie may be the perfect addition to your family, we would love to hear from you! Dixie is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link: http://www.k9rescuees.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=4070, veterinary and personal reference checks and a home visit are required prior to being approved to adopt. Non-local adopters are welcome! If you have questions about Dixie, please e-mail the following: K9RescueES@gmail.com.
