Savannah found herself scared and alone at a southern kill shelter when her owner was no longer able to afford her care. Double whammy - she also tested heartworm positive, making finding her a forever home or rescue all that much more unlikely.

Thanks to some amazing volunteers, we were able to get this sweet little girl to one of our waiting foster homes for her heartworm treatment. Savannah has recently completed treatment and is now ready to find her forever home.

Savannah is leash-trained, house-trained and smart as a tack, so picking up on how the doggie door works was a snap. Although she may be looking forward to learning some tricks-n-treats, Savannah was a bit of a chunky monkey that initially needed a "d-i-e-t" (ssh---don’t say it out loud)! She was not thrilled, but looks much better now. :)

She *ADORES* humans, though can be a bit unsure around new dogs at first. Cats are a question mark, since Savannah has not yet been cat-tested; however, we suspect she'd be fine with dog savvy kitties.
