If you're looking for an active, companion, look no further than Harley! This fella was surrendered to our rescue when his owner became too ill to address his needs. Harley was suffering from a prolonged, untreated flea allergy resulting in large scale hair loss and ear infections that have since healed beautifully. No doubt, Harley feels like a new dog and is ready for his happily ever after. Harley is a purebred lab with a surprising amount of energy for an older fella (8 years old as of 11/1/2016). He loves to play ball and run around the yard with his dog companions.

Because Harley does not have recall and is not accustomed to being leash walked, his new home will require a secure, fenced area a minimum of 4 feet in height. Harley knows several commands both verbal and non-verbal to include sit, lay, he will give both paws and also high 5s. Harley will benefit from a patient individual who is willing to work with him and expand his training.

This energetic fella loves everyone he meets, gets along with children, other dogs and is also housetrained. Harley would be most content with someone who can provide him with plenty of love and attention. A family or individual who is dog savvy and has experience with labs would be ideal. He is not a fan of being crated but can be trusted to free-range in your home. Like many dogs, Harley is food motivated; therefore, it is important to keep items off of the counter and out of reach when unattended and also isolate him from other pets for his meals.

Harley wants nothing more than a loving home for the remainder of his life. Please consider adding this big lovebug to your family.

Harley is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.
